COMMUNAL MODULAR OUTERWEAR

A speculative concept for the future fashion industry: Providing modular garments as a public service.

The system of COMMUNAL MODULAR OUTERWEAR provides textile panels that can be assembled to form outdoor clothing. The modularity allows to combine the pieces to provide protection against the climatic conditions as needed. They are arranged on walls in communal spaces and can be freely accessed and returned to any panel station after use. The system is inspired by work of Bernard Rudofsky (Architect, 1905 - 1988) on “Universal Clothing… not individual to the body…”.

These thoughts lead to a public infrastructure of clothing to provide what you need, where you need it.
